dean brown, evp - cio & head of bank operations, Union bank & trust

Dean Brown joined Union Bank as an Executive Vice President CIO & Head of Bank Operations in February 2015. As an IT and Operational leader with 30 years of experience, he has held a number of senior executive positions within the Financial Services industry including Capital One Financial, Sallie Mae / Upromise LLC, Advance America, and Intersections, Inc. Earlier in his career, Mr. Brown held Operational Consulting and Audit roles for both GTE and Signet Bank Corp.  His expertise consists of strategy and development planning, business and IT operations, application development, data warehousing, information security, risk management, and project portfolio management. Dean has a B.S. in Business Information Systems from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington School of Business.

steve young, EVP - chief operating officer, centerstate bank

Steve Young serves as an Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer with
CenterState Bank. He joined CenterState in 2002 holding various roles through his tenure
of Controller, CFO and COO. In his current role, Steve serves as Chairman of the ALCO
Committee, along with participating as a Committee member on Correspondent Banking,
Risk, Operating, and Culture Committees. In addition, he is responsible for various lines
of business including Correspondent Banking, Mortgage, Wealth Management, and
Prepaid Card divisions. Steve serves as the primary investor relations contact as well as the liaison responsible for working with Investment Bankers on modeling M&A transactions and has participated in 14 different M&A bank transactions. Prior to joining the Bank, Steve was a Senior Auditor at Deloitte and Touche in Greenville, SC. Steve earned a B.S. in Accounting from Bob Jones University and is a licensed CPA.

Mr. Silva is a recognized and respected industry leader and negotiations expert standing
for community financial institutions. An entrepreneur and industry veteran since 1991, Aaron founded Paladin fs, LLC in 2007 and launched Golden Contract Coalition in 2016. His invention of the Paladin Blue Book has leveled the playing field in contract negotiations vs. national Core & IT suppliers, gaining his clients more than $300M in cost reduction and $100M in merger value accretion. In 2018 Silva expanded Paladin to include the Fintech Advantage division, now addressing the anticipated adoption of fintech services within the industry. By the end of 2019, the GCC will have more than $1B in combined contract value - the largest banking association focused exclusively on developing a fair "Golden" contract standard that all Core, IT and Fintech suppliers will ultimately adopt in order to do business with this industry.
